The centre has been created from a traditional French farmhouse and barns, with many original timbers and local stonework. A total of 10 guests can be accommodated in two separate properties. Each house has its own private facilities and outside seating area, but there is also a communal outdoor, shaded barbeque area and the dining room in the main house is large enough to seat twenty to provide for groups who wish to eat together.
The grounds have been landscaped to enable visitors to enjoy the views, with secluded or communal seating areas, a herb garden, shrubs and trees.
There is parking for up to six cars.
The properties are situated in the idyllic, hamlet of Thuy. The Pyrenees are twenty miles to the south and provide a spectacular ever changing backdrop to the scenery.
Although rural Thuy is not totally isolated, ten mins from the small town of Tournay and its motorway junction (A64) with good links to airports and major road and rail net works.
Regular flights are available into Pau or Toulouse international airports. Pau approx 45 mins and Toulouse 1hr 30.
Due to the rural location car hire is strongly recommended although we do offer airport transfers and transport for sporting activites.
“Allons-y” is ideally situated for visiting the complete range of tourist attractions and excursions.
The Pyrenees, of course, with their famous Cols and ski stations, national parks and lakes. The Pic de Midi , attainable by cable car, or for the more adventurous (summer only) on foot, dominates the sky line, with the sun glistening on its observatory. The annual national equine festival takes place at Tarbes.
The historic pilgrimage town of Lourdes is only 35 minutes away, with a busy calendar of events throughout the year. |
