Information :
La Verrerie is a small hamlet about a mile from the village centre of Egliseneuve-des-Liards. The house is a traditional Auvergne farmhouse converted to provide two comfortable gites in addition to a range of other buildings. The two gites share a garden of nearly an acre, a stable block which is now a games room, and a pool area.



The two gites can be rented individually or together.



The garden affords stunning  views across 60+ miles to the chaine of puys, on a clear day you an see the top of Puy Sancy and Puy de Dome, and on a day with just a few clounds in just the right places, the sunsets are spectacular!



The house is in a quiet country location half way up a mountain with no passing traffic save the cows from the nearby farm and the occasional tractor. Even aircraft passing overhead are rare. But you're only ten minutes drive from the town of Sauxillanges, which has two small supermarkets and a Michelin listed restaurant! And only twenty minutes drive from the Motorway, which will take you all the way to the ferry.

Gite 1 is the upper end of a traditional Auvergne farmhouse. The houses were built in slices, the top slice would traditionally have been dwellings with grain store above. This has been converted to a self-contained house sleeping four. Upstaris is the large kitchen/dining room with woodstove, gas cooker, dishwasher, and large fridge. Also the double bedroom with westerly views over the mountain and the twin bedroom with northerly views over the garden and hamlet. Downstairs is a large lounge area with a TV (DVD and Playstation, no broadcast TV) and sofas, and a large communal table, which will easily seat the occupants of both Gites if you rent them together! The Gite has broadband internet.

Gite 1 is the second section of a traditional Auvergne farmhouse. The houses were built in slices, the top slice would traditionally have been dwellings with grain store above. The next section would have been a farm building, but has been converted to a self-contained house sleeping four. you will find a spacious double bedroom with northeryly views over the gardens and a roomy twin bedroom with southerly views over the farm. Downstairs is a large open plan area with a well equippped kitchen (cooker, fridge, cupboards, plenty of worktop) dining area (room for four, or six if you pull teh table out) and lounge area, with TV (DVD player, no broadcast TV) chairs and sofas, and bookshelves (with some books and DVDs).There is a terrace overlooking the garden, which has a small table and chairs.  The Gite has broadband internet.
